22 Months Of Hayden

Two months away from being 2 years old!  It is so hard to believe that the time is absolutely flying by.

Hayden is so much fun. Her vocabulary is growing by leaps and she is learning new words every day.  She has hit some of the “terrible twos” recently with the acquisition and prolific use of the word “mine” and variations such as “me” and “my’s”. She is very good at using polite terms such as “please” and “yes, mama” and “yes, daddy” though they are often followed quickly by lots of whining if the polite part doesn’t get the correct response…and quickly. Aww, whining. Another good reason God made her so cute.

Hayden knows most of her colors and several of her shapes. When asked she will usually tell you her favorite color is blue, though sometimes pink has also been claimed.  She has started “counting” things though usually the sequence goes something like, “one, six, three…” Not quite there yet.  We haven’t started any actual structured learning time (despite my best intentions) but try to work some accidental learning in while playing.  Probably all we will do for a time.

Lauren has brought some obvious change to Hayden’s insular little world. Hayden is very sweet with her sister and likes to kiss her and pat her. (We have to watch that she doesn’t smother her with too much love.)  Hayden has been a little more clingy with Bryan and perhaps a little more strong willed than normal (read – temper tantrums) but we figure things will smooth out with time.  We truly have been so blessed in her response and can’t wait to see as the girls grow from just sisters to friends. 

Hayden has developed a fondness for the camera recently.  She has developed quite the attractive “Cheese” face…and always wants to do “more, more, more” pictures. We are more than happy to oblige her!  Can you get too much of this cuteness?
