Fun with Grandma

I must admit that Carol and Catherine's visit completely spoiled me. I had to do very little child entertainment during their time with us. Hayden had a fabulous time with Grandma!

Hayden loved to play the "get your nose game". I think the idea was for Hayden to try and squeeze Grandma's nose while Grandma playfully avoided her grasp (which is painfully strong.)

Grandma puts on Hayden's shoes...ready to head outside!

Playing the telephone game (sorta like tug-of-war)...invented by Grandma. I tried to play it with her when they left, but she didn't seem satisfied with my technique.

Grandma...you are so fun!

Quick video of the telephone game in action!

Lord, thank you for Grandma and what a great job she did with Dad. Thank you for how she loves us and You.

Grandmas Visit

Bryan's mom and grandmother came to visit at the beginning of June. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. They were some of the easiest house guests ever. When Hayden was awake we played with her. When Hayden was asleep we read or talked. The evenings were spent watching sports on TV or playing cards (which great grandma and I dominated of course!).

I believe that I will devote Hayden's grandma and great grandma each their own picture/video post. There is just TOO much stuff to squeeze in here.

Thank you Carol and Catherine for making the long trek to Dallas. Bryan and I so enjoyed having you and I know Hayden loved spending time with you too...you could tell by all the smiling and laughing she did!

Thank you Lord for our precious family.

Bubble Fun

I bought some bubbles to have around for the birthday party but they didn't get used much. We've brought them out a few times since. Depending on her mood, Hayden could either LOVE them or careless about em'. Occasionally she decides she must be the one to operate the "bubble wand-y thing-y" and things go downhill quickly from there.

Thank you Lord for bubbles!

Hayden's Latest and Greatest

Just a few of the girl's latest skills. It amazes us what she picks up. We will show her things and certain ones she will pick up immediately and others she waits for her own sweet time.

(no child labor laws were violated in the making of this video...we have a deal...she performs occassionally upon request and we feed and clothe her.)

Coming soon...

Posts have been scarce recently...not because we haven't been up to much, but because we've been so busy (and perhaps just a tad too lazy to upload all the pictures).

So coming very soon (I promise) posts about:
  • Grandma & Great Grandma's visit
  • Bubbles
  • Grammy's visit
  • The crazy storm
  • The Farmer's Market
  • Hayden's latest Mad Skills
  • and other ones I come up with based on the myriad of photos that have been taken.

A girl and her purse(s)

Hayden has developed an affinity for finding a bag, stuffing it full of junk and hauling it around. Sound familiar ladies? Apparently she has taken notice of us carrying the diaper bag everywhere (what new mom carries a purse AND a diaper bag?). We call the bags her purses and humor her when she wants to drag them from room to room. Thankfully she is content with a bag from Christmas and an old lunch sack...the longer we can put off explaining why we will never purchase a $200+ handbag for her the better. (I can hear it now..."but all the other girls in kindergarten have a pink, signature Coach hobo bag...!")

So a salute to all you ladies out there...and your cute purses!

More Nature Loving

Little Nature Lover

Hayden loves to be outside. You tell her we are going outside and she will walk right to the front door and wait...impatiently...until we head out to explore.

She enjoys picking up acorns, rocks, and sticks (no bugs yet...thankfully).

She often wants to share her exciting finds with you...but make sure you give them back when she asks for them (read grabs them out of your hand).

She loves to look at her Dad's flowers. We practice being gentle...patting the flowers easy.

I'm not so into nature (lack of A/C, bugs, dirt, noise...), so having Hayden motivates me to change some things up. We try to get outside to explore at least once a day and Bryan always takes her out in the evenings when he gets home from work.

Thank you Lord for a girl who enjoys your creations. Thank you for blessing us through nature.
