Nathan & Mickey stop by

Nathan and Mickey stopped by on their way to Plano to play for a few minutes. Hayden and Minnie had a great time playing with those cute boys!

(Eric brought Mickey back for Nathan while he was on that same work trip to Anaheim as Bryan (see Monday's post)...you probably already figured that out huh?)

(if you were wondering...they aren't fussing, they're holding hands)

Thank you Lord for friends who come over to play and dads who love their kiddos!

When the cat's away...

...the little mouse will play.

We've been struggling with the afternoon nap recently. Sometimes Hayden will sleep for an hour and a half and sometimes she will just hang out in her crib and chat to herself. She is MONTHS too young to lose the second nap...if she misses it she is CRANKY with a capital C by 5:00. (please Lord not the second nap!) So it isn't completely unusual for me to hear her through the monitor shaking the crib rail and making a little racket.

Well, today was one of those days. She didn't cry for more than a minute or two and then she got pretty quiet. I waited 10-15 minutes before I turned the monitor on. I heard her chatting and "singing" with some occasional whimpering thrown in. Most of the time lately this will become less frequent until there is silence and I know she is sleeping. Today it went on and on and on. After about 45 minutes I went in to get her. This is what I find.

Apparently when I was rearranging the closet this morning I left this stack of clothes a little too close to the crib (about a half a foot or so). Little miss "I'm not sleepy" decided to transfer it from the stack to the crib. I guess she could reach her arm through the slats and pull things in. Why nap when you can organize!

She also had a really full diaper, but I skipped that picture. (you're welcome)

Thank you Lord for nap time (when it works) and for resourceful children.

High-5

This has evolved over time. It started out with her "clapping" on our hand and has developed into something that resembles giving a high-5. She will even do it on demand (sometimes...when she chooses to).

Slide, slide, slippity-slide

The neighborhood home owners association sponsored a bike rodeo and picnic this weekend at the park by our house. We didn't make the rodeo, where the kids learn about bike safety, but we did grab some Chik-Fil-A and cop-a-squat for the pinic. We enjoyed the nice breeze, chicken strips, swinging, sliding and blowing bubbles. I was also able to meet some girls from the neighborhood Mom's Group. A good time was had by all!

Enjoy the video of Bryan taking Hayden on her first slide!

Thank you Lord for fun times with family!

Flashback to the 80's and some polka dot ladies

The cute white leggings jumped into my basket at Target. (Anyone know of a Target's Anonymous group? I may have a problem...) I must admit that I can’t rock the leggings at 30…I’m pretty sure I couldn’t rock them appropriately at 11 either. Hayden on the other hand can wear the cute right out of them!

Also had to get some photos of Miss. H with Minnie Mouse. Minnie was a gift Daddy brought Hayden from Anaheim. We thought the girls in their polka dot dresses were pretty cute. Minnie, who always looks so put together, makes Hayden look a little scraggly. (could be the sock in the mouth and the hair that hadn't been brushed...)
Thank you Lord for cute clothes...and Target.

11 Months of Hayden

Eleven things about our girl...
  1. waves ALL the time
  2. blows kisses
  3. can take 3-4 steps at a time
  4. naps less (not sure I'm a big fan of this)
  5. has 4 teeth
  6. loves to play with (around/near) other kids
  7. sings
  8. doesn't like being told "no" (can arch that back and bellow with the best of them!)
  9. dances
  10. claps
  11. feeds herself finger foods (finally!)

The countdown is on for the girl's FIRST BIRTHDAY!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Hayden is starting to put more and more steps together.

Here are a couple of examples...

Thank you Lord for healthy legs that help us GO, GO, GO!
(Please Lord help Mommy to keep up!)

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

This week Hayden added a new skill to her "cute things I can do" list.

Thank you Lord for hugs and kisses!

Quick Easter Fun!

Well, we didn't get any really great pictures with a basket, a bunny or a bevy of eggs but we got some cute ones of Hayden at the park (on Bryan's phone so the quality is questionable.)

Swinging in a "big kid" swing!

Can just catch a glimpse of those top teeth!

Hayden climbing her first bouldering wall.

It was a tough course...at least a V-2 or V-3.

Hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter!

Thank you Lord for the salvation you provide through Jesus' death and resurrection!

Dance Dance Revolution

Hayden really only has one move in her dance repertoire thus far (like her dad)...but it sure is a cute one :)
