Everyone knows that the third birthday party is supposed to be a butterfly one, right? That is what Hayden has been telling me since her last birthday. So butterflies it was!
We had a great time, though we practiced flexibility with the party venue. Due to scheduling conflicts with the local elementary school and some possible stormy weather, we relocated the party from our neighborhood park to our house. Turned out great!
Sweet friends, butterfly wing painting, and strawberry cupcakes make a butterfly party just perfect!
The rest of the day was spent opening presents, playing with new toys, spending time with Uncle Jason, eating Mexican food (Hayden loved when the wait staff at Desperados sang her Happy Birthday in English and then in Spanish…and then brought her a big ole’ bowl of ice cream!) and finally resting. Whew. Birthdays are exhausting.
Thank you Lord for our big girl Hayden! Her sense of purpose, infectious giggles, unending energy, strong spirit and sweet smile bring us so much joy. We are so very blessed!
